爵士校園深耕計畫自2020年至2024年於新北市新泰國中執行，由駐校藝術家林映辰透過爵士樂的三大核心元素——即興創作 (improvisation)、呼應 (call and response) 和律動 (grooving)，歸納出創造力、想像力、統整性、包容性和知識共享等五項爵士素養，並設計五大主題課程，結合直笛與小樂器演奏、歌唱模仿、舞蹈律動、文字與音樂創作及音樂欣賞，帶領學生認識爵士精神與歷史脈絡。

        每年約500名中學生受惠，至今已影響2,000名學生，幫助他們提升美感鑑賞力、自我肯定與同理心。計畫成果透過年度共演音樂會展現，學生與專業音樂家共同演出，拓展視野。此外，林映辰自2018年起擔任新泰國中爵士大樂團指揮，成功協助管樂團轉型，培育出許多爵士小種子。未來希望透過此計畫串聯鄰近藝文場域，促進社區發展，並長期改善國內藝文環境。

The Jazz Campus Cultivation Project has been implemented from 2020 to 2024 at Xintai Junior High School in New Taipei City. Led by resident artist Lin Ying-Chen, the program integrates three core elements of jazz—improvisation, call and response, and grooving—to identify five essential jazz qualities: creativity, imagination, integration, inclusivity, and knowledge sharing. Five thematic courses were designed, incorporating activities such as recorder and small instrument performance, vocal imitation, dance and body movements, creative writing and music composition, and music appreciation. These courses guide students in understanding the spirit and history of jazz.

 

Benefiting approximately 500 junior high school students annually, the project has impacted 2,000 students so far, enhancing their aesthetic appreciation, self-confidence, and empathy. The program's outcomes are showcased in an annual collaborative concert, where students perform alongside professional musicians, broadening their horizons. 

 

In addition, Lin Ying-Chen has served as the conductor of the Xintai Junior High School Jazz Big Band since 2018, successfully transitioning the school’s wind ensemble to a jazz band and nurturing many young jazz talents. Looking ahead, the project aims to connect with nearby cultural venues to promote community development and contribute to long-term improvements in Taiwan’s arts environment.
